Gleneagles Wins ‘Best Golf Resort In The World’ At The Ultras Travel Awards

This week, The Gleneagles® Hotel was recognised as the ‘Best Golf Resort in the World’ at the highly coveted ULTRAs 2012 awards. Gleneagles saw off strong competition from an esteemed selection of luxury golf resorts across the globe to secure the accolade.

Patrick Elsmie,Gleneagles Managing Director, commented;

“We are thrilled to win Best Golf Resort in the World, especially because it is voted for by such a discerning readership. Our team work incredibly hard all year round and I am delighted this has been acknowledged with such outstanding recognition.”

Set within 850 acres of stunning Perthshire countryside, Gleneagles is home to three of Scotland’s finest 18 hole championship golf courses; the PGA Centenary Course, The King’s Course and The Queen’s Course. For guests with less experience, the PGA National Academy Course and Pitch & Putt practice area offer tantalising challenges for all levels of player. In September 2014, the hotel will play host to one of the world’s top sporting events – the Ryder Cup.

In addition to the world class golf courses, Gleneagles offers sumptuous guest bedrooms, a multi-award winning spa, elegant fine dining including Andrew Fairlie - Scotland's only two Michelin star restaurant - and an array of outdoor activities including off-road driving, shooting, fishing, falconry, horse riding and the world’s first Gundog School.
