Nirwana Bali Golf Club named one of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses

Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort’s golf course is the only golf course in Indonesia to make this prestigious list

Bali, Indonesia, February 2014, - Nirwana Bali Golf Club at Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort has been recently unveiled as no. 52 in Golf Digest’s first ever “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” ranking. Nirwana joins a sterling list of golf courses spanning across 18 countries where the U.S. topped the list with Pine Valley in New Jersey followed by Cypress Point in Pebble Beach and Augusta National in Georgia. Royal County Down in Northern Ireland comes in at 4th place kicking off the first of the international courses among other famed courses including the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland and Royal Melbourne in Australia rounding out the top 10.

The Nirwana Bali Golf Club is the only golf course in Indonesia that is being recognised in this inaugural accolade by Golf Digest U.S. this year. In 2012, the Nirwana Bali Golf Club has been voted in the “100 Best Golf Courses outside the U.S.” (no. 66) and the No. 1 Golf Course in Indonesia by Golf Digest U.S. in May 2012.

Golf Digest has been a leader in ranking courses for almost 50 years, but it is the first time it has devised the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. The list was assembled with Golf Digest’s U.S. Course Ranking Panelists along with the publication’s 27 international editions and their related Course Rankings Panelists who ranked each course they were familiar with on a 10-point scale. Courses needed a minimum of 20 ballots to qualify for the ranking.

Steven Morgan, Director of Golf commented, “We are delighted to receive this fantastic international recognition from Golf Digest and take great pride in representing Indonesia. With over 34,000 estimated golf courses on the planet, this distinction further enhances our global reputation and demonstrates why golfers are so keen to make our golf course a must-play location here at Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort."
