Young Rose Begins to Bloom at The Manor House

US Open champion Justin Rose took time out from his preparations for this month’s Open Championship to celebrate his daughter’s christening at The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club.

Family and friends joined golf’s newest Major winner at the stunning Wiltshire venue in Castle Combe, near Bath, last weekend (July 6) to see his second child, 18-month-old Lottie, christened.

World number three Rose, 32, has a close association with The Manor House having married his long-time girlfriend Kate at the five-star hotel in December 2006 after playing nine holes of golf on its 18-hole championship course on the morning of his wedding.

And to mark the occasion and his return, The Manor House presented the European Ryder Cup star with honorary life membership of the club - only the second person ever to receive the honour after 2003 England World Cup rugby union winner Mike Tindall.

Dillon Ariyaratne, conference and banqueting manager at The Manor House Hotel, said: “It was great to meet Justin and his family so soon after his US Open win.

“It was a privilege to host another family occasion for him; everybody had a lovely day and he even gave me the chance to hold the US Open trophy.”

Dating back to the 14th century and described as a “real gem of a hotel” by the most recent official AA Hotel Services rating, The Manor House nestles in 365 acres of stunning countryside in Castle Combe - one of the most picturesque villages in England - and its five-star facilities include a collection of 48 bedrooms and suites.

The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club is owned by the Exclusive Golf group alongside Mannings Heath Golf Club in Horsham, West Sussex, with both venues featuring in the latest ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in England’ standings.

Steve Slinger, Exclusive Golf’s manager, said: “We were delighted to welcome Justin back and help him and his family celebrate such a special day.

“Watching him win the US Open was very special and no one deserved to win a Major more than him. He is a fantastic ambassador for the game and giving him honorary life membership of The Manor House was a fitting way to mark his great achievement and celebrate such a special occasion.”

Situated in 500 acres of beautiful Sussex downland near Horsham, Mannings Heath is a perfect complement to The Manor House, boasting two outstanding championship golf courses and a striking clubhouse that dates back to the 17th century.

The 6,683-yard Waterfall Course is situated on land where golf has been played since the very early 1900s and will host the 2013 English Women’s Amateur Strokeplay Championship from August 6-8, while the Kingfisher Course is set in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and offers breathtaking panoramic views over the tree tops and across the South Downs.

Exclusive Golf was formed in 2010 and is a part of Exclusive Hotels, a prestigious group of individual, stylish hotels in the south of England, located in stunning surroundings and presenting a luxurious tranquillity in beautiful English locations.
